Morton Grove, IL — The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) has announced that Quantum Group of Morton Grove is an award winner in the 2020 Graphics Excellence Awards competition. The judging was conducted on March 10-11, 2020, by a team of independent judges. The GEA competition is one of the largest printing competitions in the nation.

Quantum Group earned 22 GEA awards, with multiple Best in Category, Best in Division, Awards of Excellence and Certificates of Merit honors.  “We are always proud of the materials we produce, but in 2019, we really pushed the limits.  It was fun because we were able to think out of the box when submitting our entries.  For example, this was Quantum’s first time entering into categories such as Magazine Series, Binders, Cartons and Containers.  We were enthusiastic about our entries and even more so at how well they were received by the judges”, said Joe Holleman, Director of Marketing.

Cheryl Kahanec, CEO of Quantum remarked, “This year’s awards are really special to me for a couple of reasons.  First of all, for the GLGA to be able to continue with the GEA awards, especially at a time when our industry needs it the most – is remarkable.”

“Secondly, it really shines the spotlight on our employees and their commitment to excellence.  The effort and the passion they put into their jobs; those are the traits I admire most about them.  And now, for the industry to recognize their hard work – well, I couldn’t be prouder of them.”

“I can’t wait for our team to share this news with their clients”, said Michele Brennan, EVP of Sales and Marketing at Quantum.  “A little positivity goes a long way and I believe our clients deserve to receive recognition for their efforts.  If Quantum can provide them that emotional boost at a time like this – well, we are happy to do it.”

A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production was brought in to examine the work. Each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.
