Morton Grove, IL — The Great Lakes Graphics Association (GLGA) has announced that Quantum of Morton Grove, IL, has earned multiple awards in the 2020 Graphics Excellence Awards competition. The judging was conducted on March 10-11, 2021, by a team of independent judges. The GEA competition is one of the largest printing competitions in the nation.

Quantum earned 13 GEA awards, including five Best in Category, two Best in Division and six Awards of Excellence.  “2020 was obviously, well 2020.  Despite the slowdown in companies executing their printed marketing, we were fortunate to on-board a few new clients.  Their unique formatting and personalization requirements allowed Quantum to get creative”, said Joe Holleman, Director of Marketing at Quantum.

“I’ve been in the industry for a while”, said Michele Brennan, Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing at Quantum.  “I remember when concepts were sketched on the back of a napkin.  I was delighted when I learned that three of our Best of Category winners – were literally, sketched on the back of a napkin”.  “Kudos to our employees here at Quantum.  I’m so proud of their creativity, ingenuity and commitment to our clients”.

Cheryl Kahanec, CEO of Quantum remarked, “As always, we are thankful for the GLGA and all they do for our industry – their commitment to printers is remarkable.  Also, to once again be recognized by our industry peers – well, I couldn’t be prouder of our employees here.”

“I’m excited to once again have our team to share this news with their clients”, said Michele Brennan, EVP of Sales and Marketing at Quantum.  “I’m a firm believer that our clients deserve recognition for their efforts.”

A panel of out-of-state judges with extensive experience in printing and print production were brought in to examine the work. Each entry was judged on its own merit in a category with similar printed pieces. The judging criteria included registration, crossovers, clarity and neatness, sharpness of halftones and line drawings, richness and tonal qualities of color, paper and ink selection, ink coverage, difficulty of printing, effective contrast or softness, finishing, bindery and overall visual impact.
